Loire DOMAINE THOMAS FRISSANT

Located in a troglodyte cellar in the town of Mosnes, very close to the town of Amboise and its Loire castles, the family estate has had a facelift with the arrival of Thomas Frissant, the 8th generation of winegrowers. After traveling from Burgundy to New Zealand, it was in 2019 that the child of the village decided to take over the vines of his father, Xavier Frissant, little by little.

With a committed passion that is transmitted from father to son, Thomas undertook from the start to convert his 14-hectare vineyard to organic farming and to develop an original range of thirst-quenching wines, the "Tout en Canon" in 3 colors (Chardonnay, Grolleau and Gamay).

On his plots composed of clay and flint, planted with Sauvignon, Chenin and Côt, he produces elegant Touraine and Touraine Amboise wines with the names of localities evocative of beautiful stories: "Chapeau Comte", "Les Perruches", "La Touche ", "Clos du Sentier". Its 2 large plot cuvées, "Les Perrières" and "Les Rosiers", come exclusively from its most beautiful terroirs of Gamay, Chenin and Côt.

On the cellar side, Thomas vinifies in stainless steel vats with indigenous yeasts and very little intervention. The ageing takes place in tanks, barrels and jars, depending on the harvest, with the constant search for delicate and complex white wines and digestible and fruity red wines. The first cuvées of Thomas Frissant already mark the signature of a great winemaker-artisan, with ultra distinguished canons!
